You know, I think what ’20 needs,
Is just a bit of magic;
The year, quite frankly, up to here
has been entirely tragic.
January dawned on us,
With cheer and glee;
But tragically in the month,
I hurt my knee.
I limped to February and had an operation,
Bore unbelievable pain,
With a cruel physiotherapist’s cooperation!
And after that it all went south,
Corona has been cataclysmic
Without a doubt.
Thousands of migrants,
On the road, stranded;
Their livelihoods and dignity,
All abruptly disbanded.
And there remain so many of us,
Who’re stuck at home and whine;
We’re cooking ourselves course per course,
Celebrating drink and dine.
May is making us think wide and deep,
Into our own employment;
Meanwhile states take away labour rights,
For capitalists’ enjoyment.
There are scores of lessons
That COVID has brought
To make us revise, re-look;
Compassion, empathy, equity and rights
We simply cannot overlook.
So what we need, quite desperately,
Is some kindness and magic by Poppins or McPhee or Potter,
And paint rainbows of parity and abundance,
From Earth, Wind and Water.
Wow!it's wonderful!!!! Keep them coming:)))
